TURKISH VAN CATS

16 Aug

Last year when I came here to visit my granddaughter, she was all interested in Turkish van cats. She read about how they like to swim.

*

During the year her family adopted two cats at the local shelter. One is a black cat and one is a mixed tabby. The mixed tabby came to the shelter as a stray when he was 5 months old. They named the tabby Blitz.

*

This year my granddaughter was still talking about Turkish van cats so I Googled them.

*

I started to wonder what was going to happen when she started talking about getting a third cat.

*

Her mother noticed that the on line photos of Turkish van cats looked just like Blitz.

*

So yesterday as an experiment they bathed Blitz.

*

He purred!

*

He likes the water and they are getting a pool. Turkish van cats are under the category mixed tabby. It seems he is a Turkish can mix.

*

Did you ever find that you already have what you are wishing for?

*

PS I’m still traveling. 😄

love the “already have what you are wishing for” idea…SO true with my children…we are looking into getting a cat and i keep idealizing the perfect breed or perfect temperaments and i think this cat will find its way into our life through a shelter or someone needing a home for their cat…had never heard of this breed before…neat story!

I agree Denise, tell us about your cat when you get it. Bless you all.
