FEEL GOOD FRIDAY and FLASH BACK FRIDAY

Something that made me happy this week is learning to use the Corel painting program.

OMG, I have been so frustrated and challenged. Finally after 5 days I have my first sketch for a cartoon.  I think I am really going to be able to do this. I am so happy.

I wish I could show it to you but it is of my grandson and his parents won’t want me to.

So, I did a sketch of myself from a photo when I was ten years old.

Okay, I need a lot of practice to get my hand co-ordinated with this drawing pad. I am happy to practice.  This gives me the proper proportions which would normally take a lot of drawing time to get back to.  I think I’m in heaven. And soon I get to color it too.

Flash Back Friday

For a related FLASH BACK FRIDAY, when I was young, I painted a page in a coloring book. I was so thrilled with it and I showed it to my parents and aunt and uncle. I told them I wanted to be an artist when I grow up.

*

They all laughed. I thought it was becasue they knew my idea was totally unrealistic. I wonder sometimes if maybe they laughed because I was so intent or maybe cute or something.

*

Later I drew a picture of Our Lady and I put prominent breasts on her. My mother told me I couldn’t do that.

*

Then in school one time I drew a picture of Jesus. My teacher, a nun, told me only a really good artist can draw Jesus. I got the picture that she didn’t think I qualified.

*

We all have that in so many ways don’t we? But now, I’ve become old enough that I can do what I want and be eccentric if I want. Do you want to join me?

Feel Good Friday And Flash Back Friday.

Five things that really made me happy this week were:

*

!.  I caught up all the pages I lost in Script Frenzy. I’ve got 90 pages written and should complete 100 today. I expect to keep going to 140 to finish.
*
2.  A year ago another writer and I started a writer’s group. It has far surpassed my expectations. I feel very bonded with the other writers, similar to how I feel with all of you.
*
3. I started out walking at the beach for 35 minutes and then jogging/walking and this week I gently jogged the whole time,  woo hoo.
*
4. I know better than to judge, but I was still challenged to forgive 2 people. This week when I was forgiving myself for judging myself and forgetting that I am divine, I realized that they are divine too. Then I further realized I was judging God and how he made them. I am at a new level of acceptance and am very grateful.
*
5.  I love being in my garden and eating fresh vegetables right out of it. I learned this week that I can dry beet leaves and Swiss chard. I am so excited that I can take them with me when I travel  and add greens to soup.  XD

*
6. OH my I got to see one of the WordPress Surprises. WooHoo.

Flash Back Friday

*
My flash back started in the grocery store when I went to buy eggs. I remembered my grandmother always had brown eggs. I bought brown eggs today.
*
My grandparents lived over a candy store. Can you believe that? I don’t remember getting to eat excessive amounts of candy. I do remember being in there and getting candy dots on strips of paper and tiny metal pie pans that came with a tiny spoon. The pan was filled with a Carmel kind of sweet.

Have your best week ever.

Feel Good Friday And Flash Back Friday

The Girl Next Door Grows Up
Blog started this Feel Good Friday thing. Here’s how to do it – pick one of her prompts and write about it on your blog!

Five things that really made me happy this week were:

1. When twice I lost script pages I had written, (on the computer, 60 pages total.) and I felt like I was at 99.9% of what I could handle, (doesn’t sound very good does it?) before I broke apart into blood and guts on the floor; my husband did his best computer wizardry to try to retrieve them. He couldn’t but I am grateful for his willingness and patience.

2. Then he wisely kept quiet and left me alone to bang my head on the wall . Perhaps all this had to happen so I would appreciate how kind he is.

3. I have a new friend. In the past I have not made friends easily or quickly. With this woman, I knew as soon as I saw her.

4. My weight is going down and I have been able to gently jog again. I did 19 minutes yesterday. XD

5. My daughter told me she and her family are coming for Christmas. I am stoked.

Flash Back Friday

Here’s a second Friday post because I wanted to join the meme of Jennifer at My Crazy LIfe

My flashback is to my first date with a guy I liked so much. He was so cute and sweet. We were waiting for a bus and a bird pooped on my head.

Flash forward to a few weeks after I met my current husband. Some enormous bird pooped a huge quantity of foul smelling poop on my head and down my arm. My husband helped me clean it up and I thought wow, a guy who will help me clean up this mess is something else. I was right. If it was reversed, I might have started backing away.

You cannot convince me that getting pooped on is anything but excellent luck.

Have your best week ever.

Flash Back Friday

Flash Back Friday

Here’s a second Friday post because I wanted to join the meme of Jennifer at My Crazy LIfe

My flashback is about kindergarten. My town didn’t have a kindergarten so they bussed us to a city. I went to a Catholic kindergarten and one day the bus was late to bring us home. A bunch of us were running around waiting and someone opened a closet. We all thought there was a big white ghost in there and ran away screaming. Now I think there must have been a statue in there. Nothing came out to get us, just the bus.
