Weight Loss – Hurray.

My weight is down 5 pounds since I left on vacation. I am so happy about this.

My pants were so loose I could take them off without unbuttoning them.

*

So I gave them to charity and got a new pair. Yay. When I get home next week, I have some tight clothes  I’ve been waiting to be able to wear.

*

My comments are off because I’m still traveling.

1. I love my feet. They jog along and let me enjoy feeling free.

2. I love my nails. They are pretty without much effort on my part.

3. I love my torso being 2 inches smaller. Even that much makes me feel so much better about it. It’s an hourglass shape.

4. I love my skin. People often think I am 20 years younger. Thank you skin.

5. I love my legs. They are good in shape and strength. And my thighs are smaller than Eric Heiden’s.

I do believe that our bodies are perfect for the work we are meant to do.

So what are you drinking? Are you sticking to your healthy eating plan and drinking a ton of water? Do you got to have your iced tea? Or are you still sipping on the can of sugar soda?

*

This is perfect for me. I have been succumbing to having a cold beer each day. I got myself some light ones at 100 calories, but I know it would be better to skip the beer and have the calories in good food.

*

I know I have been doing it because I haven’t kept cold tea in the fridge. I like my tea unsweetened also. My doctor recommended at least three cups of nettle tea a day. I usually drink them cold.

*

My favorite is cold weak green tea. I will drink water but would rather have tea.

*

Years ago I lost some weight and was working out. I got a hernia. I know, I pushed it with the weights and that caused it. A contributing factor was, when you lose weight, toxins that were stored in the body fat, are released and weaken your muscles. That is a good reason to drink lots, so you dilute the toxins and they pass out of you faster.

Per Shortmama this week.

This weeks topic comes from my bloggy friend and fellow chick wanting less muffin MiMi at Living in France.

She suggested that we talk about and show how we would dress differently if we were not overweight.

I’m so glad that this week I don’t have to cop to how  compromised  my eating has been.

For many years I have envisioned myself in a wrap dress and I would have my small waist back. It would have an A-line skirt and be knee length. I’d wear flats because that’s me.

I like the one here except I would tie the bow smaller. I would really like to achieve this. Maybe I should buy myself a dress and keep trying it on till I can fit into it. I am going shopping tomorrow. I could put it on when I want to eat carbs.

I am being very challenged today. Please say a prayer for me and my family. Bless you all.

Share your best or worse diet advice and tell about your experience.

The worst diet advice I have followed is low fat. My body needs good fats. I take large doses of omega 3 and 6 to keep my clotting factors regulated. Taking statins and lowering cholesterol too much left me with shingles twice.

*

I have some olive oil every day and when I am wanting something more to eat at night, I often have some olives.

*

The best diet advice is to stay happy and loving. When I am on vacation, I usually end up losing a little weight. I don’t count calories, I end up eating things I wouldn’t normally, yet I lose.
I do exercise more than usual. That is part of it. The important part I think, is that I am so happy and loving at these times. I need to stay in that place inside me every day.

Ok so this week I want to know how you plan to avoid overeating or junk eating now that the kids are on summer break?

Lets see, do I have a plan? No. Okay my plan? if I knew what it was? I would say? – Oh I got it.

In Oprah’s e-mail newsletter, she had a test to see what kind of weight management program would suit a person the best.

*

I took the test, and….

*

It suggested I would be best suited to a spirit based program.

*

If you’re wondering what that is, I was too.

*

There was a link for one and as I read about it, I relaxed. There was another also, which I didn’t read.

*

It seemed to me to be saying that our bodies are magnificently able to let us know when they need nutrients, e.g. craving and when we are full. The premise seemed to be if we focus on listening to what our body is telling us, we will be ahead.

*

This reminded me of a study I read many years ago. In it children were fed from a cafeteria line and were free to choose whatever food they wanted. The researchers discovered; IF an appetite was not seduced by sweets and junk food, the child ended up selecting a balanced diet.

*

My plan is to avoid the junk and pay more attention to my body’s signals.

This week, we tell how we are doing. My weight and waist are the same as two weeks ago.

One downfall has been having a cold ‘light’ beer in the afternoon. Today I made sure I have some cold iced tea, 0 calories in the fridge.

Another thing has been getting back my exercise levels. Today I got back to a full hour of treading water at aerobics. Yesterday I managed to jog for 25 minutes. Soon I’ll be back to 40 minutes and more.

At Costco I bought a tank  top that compresses in your midriff. I love how I look in it. I’d like to be that way without it.
