FEEL GOOD FRIDAY

The Girl Next Door Grows Up
Blog started this Feel Good Friday thing. Pick one of her prompts and write about it on your blog!

*

*

This may not look like much – an old watch with a broken band.

*

I’m not much of a saver, but so far I haven’t been able to part with this.

*

When my oldest was a teenager, I suddenly became a single parent of three and increased my part time work to full time. It was challenging in all ways and I wasn’t coming up with the money to get myself a watch.

*

I worked as a nurse and it was necessary to have a watch. It was getting very ‘old’ to find ways to manage without one.

*

Some patient rooms had clocks and some patients wore watches and I could borrow one from a different do-worker each time I needed one.

*

I didn’t have any long term goals to get myself one. I was just keeping up with the bills. (sound of violins here.)

*

For Mother’s Day, my eldest who worked at a department store, bought me this watch.

*

It brings tears to my eyes that he even knew I needed one. He was like that. His gifts were very thoughtful.

*

When he used my car, he always left the audio tape on my favorite song.

*

I am very blessed. I’m thinking about decorating a picture frame with lovable treasures like this. Then I can see them all the time.

ONE WORLD ONE HEART

One World One Heart

One World One Heart
Aloha! It’s time for a ride on the Magic Carpet as you surf from one blog to the next to see what’s on offer for One World One Heart. This giveaway runs until 14th February and the whole event finishes on 15th Feb. I will choose the winner using a random number selector.

Lisa Swifka

created this event in 2007. The original idea behind this giveaway event was to bring bloggers together from around the world who may never ordinarily meet. It closes the gap of the blog community and enables us to interact, discover new and wonderful people, and in the process possibly win a prize or many prizes along the way. 2007 had roughly 85-90 participants … In 2009 there were 911 participants, to say I was amazed is an understatement. 28 countries were represented in the 2009 event as well.
…This is an INTERNATIONAL event.

Aloha and welcome to my blog. I’m giving away some Aloha in the form of three lei and a set of two Spa washcloths or dishcloths if you prefer to wash dishes rather than be pampered.

To have a chance at winning leave a comment on this particular post.

These spa cloths are 100% cotton.

These lei are made from satin rattail and eyelash pua yarn.

Unfortunately no real flowers were picked in the making of these lei.

The best of luck and fun to each of you.

First Guest Post: My Authentic Self Speaks by Jeanne Litt

I love all of mankind. I wish you all a very happy Christmas.

What I love about us humans is that we keep going. We keep on living, (for the most part), we keep on having children and raising them the best we can.

We work hard and have our family’s needs at heart. We help others, give to the poor, volunteer, and write gazillions of blogs every day offering advice and the benefit of our wisdom. We share. We party together and eat together. Even the hermits among us are connected by the internet. We unite, we connect. We are social beings. We can say no to all the invitations to events we don’t want to attend. We can connect with just one other person and it can be electronically even, but we are still all one in our deepest core. We are the same dreams and cares and needs.

We love our heroes and we are all their virtues. We love to hate our villains and we are them too. We can love it all. Life goes on either way. We can love it all and be happy. Let’s each start being happy with who we are. After all, who else could be us?

Thank you Jeanne for your submission. We hope to have you back again.
