FEEL GOOD FRIDAY

15 Oct

The Girl Next Door Grows Up
Blog started this Feel Good Friday meme. Pick one of her prompts and write about it on your blog!

*

It’s like Christmas in October.

Oh my goodness, I could be saying that about the MUSE online writer’s conference that I am attending.

*

But right now I am saying it about the fed ex box that arrived with all my info for my trip to Japan next Monday.

*

All these papers and maps and info came in this cute little folder.

It has a fan motif. I still use the one from my last trip.

Lots of maps and language handbook.

More maps and brochures of places I will go.

And a book to help me understand the culture.

* I am so excited. For me going to Japan is what I do for myself and not to please anyone else. I am so pleased. What do you do when you are not trying to please anyone but yourself?

I am so excited for you! That sounds like an amazing trip. And I love it that you do it just for you.

What do I do when I am not trying to please anyone else? Write, read, and workout. And I am also really getting into yoga and meditation.

Have fun in Japan! Can’t wait to hear all about it!

Lucky you, how exciting. You know I don’t even know what I do just to please myself, a few years ago pre kids it was fly to Europe, nothing better than just packing my bag and away I go. But now, pleasing myself is so far down thel list, today I got to do the food shopping on my own, that was a treat, oh crap, where has my life gone?

I remember those days Claire with children and how your priorities change. When the children are grown you get to revisit your wants.

Neat. Those are some of the best kinds of packages, with all sorts of interesting surprises and nuggets of information inside.

When I’m only worrying about pleasing myself and not others, I read a lot.

The Muse Conference registration for 2011 has opened. You have to go to the forums, which will probably require registration. There will be a thread asking you to vote in a poll to say that you will be attending next year’s conference. You vote, and you’re registered. If you don’t vote, you won’t be registered.

Thanks for the reply on my blog. Just wanted to mention that the version of Rio Star that’s listed on Amazon is the one from my old publisher and is no longer in print. It may be next week or so before the one from my new publisher is listed. (It was about a week for them to list Blood Money once it was out, if that’s anything to go by.)

Glad you’ve enjoyed the conference! We’ll still be around until Sunday evening if you want to drop by.

Have a great time in Japan! I’m looking forward to future blogs of your trip.

What do I do when I just want to please myself? Two things: When I have $ I escape with my husband for some quality time together. When I’m broke, I escape with a mystery to some inexpensive restaurant for lunch. Pure escapism. 🙂

Oh you are so lucky! Japan!!! I have always wanted to visit Japan. I hope you have a safe and delightful trip.

When I’m not trying to please anyone else, I sleep. Seriously. I sleep as much and as long as I want.

I’m not even the one going and I’m excited! I hope you do the Geisha thing…that would be so awesome! One of my favorite books is Memoirs of a Geisha, so I would love to be dressed like a real Geisha.
How long are you staying (sorry if you already answered that somewhere)?
Waiting with bated breath to hear your report on the trip! Have fun!
