You’re All Winners On This Bus — Circular Needle Giveaway.

Well Holly and Samantha, I don’t have to hope that you both win — because you did. The two of you each have two entries. My random generator, (husband), chose 3 and 4.

Since you were picked first Holly, I give you your choice of size. I’ll be contacting each of you.

Happy knitting times with these and thank you for entering.

FATHER’S DAY GIFTS TO MAKE — E-reader Cover and a Circular Needle Giveaway.

For the Father in your life who has an e-reader, you can knit or crochet a cover for it. On Ravelry there are a few different patterns to choose from. One person designed a cell phone cover that looks like a pop tart!

I won’t be making one for Father’s day this year but I have saved these patterns in my favorites.

I have an abundance of circular knitting needles and am giving away two. One is US size 11 and one is US size 10 1/2.

Leave a comment with a way I can get in touch with you when you win. That’s all you have to do. Tell me if and how you follow my blog for an extra entry.

Best luck to all of you.

I will pick the winner by random generator, on June 24th.

A Whimsical Bohemian

This is me, often in the garden. I’ve planted over 40 trees in my yard.

A Japanophile, I looked like this for one hour last October.

A rare photo – who knew the house came with a kitchen? This joke comes from http://pettywitter.blogspot.com/

I live in Hawaii and I can be found here.

Crocheting and knitting are some of my addictions.

Art is another addiction. To thank you for stopping by, one lucky winner will receive a drawing from a favorite photo of theirs.

Like this to

This.

Or this. The winner will be randomly drawn and announced on February 17, using a random generator. This is open to all active bloggers worldwide. Anyone who leaves a comment and has a blog will be entered. Be sure I have your e-mail to contact you if you win this prize and so I can visit your blog.

The winner will e-mail me a high resolution photo for a pencil drawing, in my line drawing style. The portrait will be drawn digitally and free-hand.
Your portrait will be e-mailed to you as a JPG  file so you can print as many as you like at home on your printer. Print it on business cards, stationery or as a print for framing.

Have a wonderful time visiting the other blogs. XD

FEEL GOOD FRIDAY

The Girl Next Door Grows Up
Blog started this Feel Good Friday meme. Pick one of her prompts and write about it on your blog!

*

Five things that I feel happy about this week are:

1. 50% of my husband’s co-workers were laid off last Friday and he wasn’t. Hurray! I like the lifestyle he spoils me with.

2. I won two books from Dollycas‘s Thoughts. She does a lot of book reviews and has a lot of giveaways. She also is interesting, kind, thoughtful and one of my favorite bloggers. She has so many giveaways, I knew I was going to win sometime. Yay!

3. My grandaughter’s room is zebra and pink. When I found some zebra yarn I had to make her a blanket. Did you know there are lots of how to’s about fixing dropped stitches and they all talk about stitches you drop and find while you are knitting. I found my dropped stitches after I nearly finished a full size blanket. One thing I love about knitting is the uniform look of the stitches. Mine were out of uniform. After I repaired them, they were glaring mistakes to me.

Since I’m more of a salvage things rather than take them apart and redo them kind of person, I decided to crochet chains the length of the blanket where the mistakes were.

A new design. Once I crochet a border, it will be done. Yay!

4. I ‘took offense’ from an acquaintance of mine. Clearly she was in error, until I looked closely. When I am in a good place, nothing bothers me. I realize I needed to fill me up. Now I’m grateful that it came up as a reminder to me.

5. Two of my favorite blog writers shared about feeling inadequate. They are people who write very well and give me a challenge not to  compare myself  with them. I would lose in all the areas they are so excellent at. It would never occur to me that they could feel that way. Another ‘lightbulb moment’ reminder to me. I am excellent at being me. Am I using the word excellent too much, that’s what we people who used to be hung up on perfection use instead of perfectionist terms. Muhaha.

Did you have an excellent week?

FEEL GOOD FRIDAY

The Girl Next Door Grows Up
Blog started this Feel Good Friday thing. Pick one of her prompts and write about it on your blog!

*

This week Liz at Eternal Lizdom is hosting the meme.

*

This week I received a package in the mail.
*
It was from Elizabeth at On Tap For Today. In it, bedsides the hot sauce I won on her blog, there was a selection of teas, some spa creams like stress relief oil, uplifting cards and Luna nutrition bars. It’s so thoughtful of her.

*

My favorite card says

I trust the process of life. There is a rhythm and flow to life, and I am part of it. Life supports me and brings to me only good and positive experiences. I trust the process of life to bring me my Highest good.

There was also the bottle of hot sauce – Big Papi.
I wanted to win it because my husband loves hot sauce. He says this one has very good taste and is just the right hotness.
*
I love all the added bonus and will take them with me on my travels.
*
Thank you Elizabeth, I am grateful for all the goodies and your kind note.
*
As if this wasn’t enough for a great week, I am flying over to Honolulu this morning to pick up my grandson.
*
We are having a special trip with just him and my husband and I and the wild dolphins and a zip line.
*
Have your best week ever.

Feel Good Friday

The Girl Next Door Grows Up
Blog started this Feel Good Friday thing. Here’s how to do it –

Step 1:
Pick one of these prompts and write about it on your blog! You can:

  • Just make a list. List 5 things that made you really happy this week. No matter how bad or boring you think your week was, I bet you can find 5 things.
  • Write about something that happened to you this week that really made you smile. Was it your child, husband, or maybe a complete stranger did to you?
  • Write about something that YOU did for someone else that really made them happy or laugh.
  • Is there something you treasure so much that every single time you look at it, it brings you happiness? Post a pic and tell everyone about it.
  • Having a hard week and can’t find one good thing about it? Well then, what is your happy place? What do you think of that makes you happy? A past vacation? A childhood memory? We want to know!

Step 2:
Go back to Girl Next Door’s Blog and link up with Mister Linky’s Magical Widgets. Then go and read at least one other blog and leave them a comment to make their day brighter.

Step 3:
Have fun. Feel good. Smile.

Today I won a free copy of The Hinomoto Rebellion by Elizabeth Staley at her blog.

Photo from Elizabeth Staley

*

I found her blog because we are both doing Script Frenzy. I am so excited to win and Guess what. The contest is open until April 30 and Liz will be giving away more copies of her book. You might win too.

I am also having a great time writing my script which is turning out to be a comic book. I’m on page 37 out of 100 pages I need to finish by April 30.

ONE WORLD ONE HEART

One World One Heart

One World One Heart
Aloha! It’s time for a ride on the Magic Carpet as you surf from one blog to the next to see what’s on offer for One World One Heart. This giveaway runs until 14th February and the whole event finishes on 15th Feb. I will choose the winner using a random number selector.

Lisa Swifka

created this event in 2007. The original idea behind this giveaway event was to bring bloggers together from around the world who may never ordinarily meet. It closes the gap of the blog community and enables us to interact, discover new and wonderful people, and in the process possibly win a prize or many prizes along the way. 2007 had roughly 85-90 participants … In 2009 there were 911 participants, to say I was amazed is an understatement. 28 countries were represented in the 2009 event as well.
…This is an INTERNATIONAL event.

Aloha and welcome to my blog. I’m giving away some Aloha in the form of three lei and a set of two Spa washcloths or dishcloths if you prefer to wash dishes rather than be pampered.

To have a chance at winning leave a comment on this particular post.

These spa cloths are 100% cotton.

These lei are made from satin rattail and eyelash pua yarn.

Unfortunately no real flowers were picked in the making of these lei.

The best of luck and fun to each of you.

Fridays for Friends

Fridays will now be for friends and will feature a post about a fellow blogger. Since I’ve been posting in the evening and my evening is late night zulu time, I’ll post it on Thursday evenings.

Today’s is about Daria from
Daria’s Blog

Daria won the book, The 3 A.M. Epiphany. Here’s a little about her:

“My name is Daria and I’m relatively new to blogging. Sure, I have had a blog for quite a while, but only recently have I understood what it is to Blog, and what goes into it… I enjoy writing, and reading what others write, but I am now learning what goes into a blog – traffic, readers and the like. The 3AM Ephiphany is going to be a great benefit for me, and I cannot wait to see what kind of reading exercises it holds, and I am excited to try every one.

My newlywed husband may not be so excited (he is not a fan of my hours on the computer, but he will live), but I think it will work out well in the long run! My blog is new, and because of that, I welcome all constructive criticism! If you don’t blog well, who am I going to learn from?? =)

JB – thank you so much for this contest, and this book! I appreciate it, and will hope to take advantage of this teaching in the near future! =)”

You’re welcome Daria. I’d love to hear how the exercises go for you.

Next Friday I am committing to having read the book I won on Thea Phipps blog, and commenting on it. Her book is called The Doll In The Wall and I’m hooked. It’s a humorous mystery.
